Our client is a new and trending fashion brand, fast growing and expanding their business.  They are adding a Human Resources Generalist to the team.  The HR Generalist will support a line of business with the full scope of HR responsibilities, including providing backup Payroll/Timekeeping support.  Ideal candidates will have an upbeat “can do” attitude and entrepreneurial spirit, along with an HR track record of progressive growth and accomplishment.  This is an opportunity to accelerate your career and to grow with a new and exciting organization.

The position reports to the owner/President and is located near the Downtown Los Angeles area.  This role requires the HR Generalist to work in-office (remote and hybrid work schedules are not available).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Responsible for the full range of HR and Payroll Administration duties.

·         Ensures that all HR matters are in and remain in compliance with federal, state and local labor laws.

·         Recruits for and ensures that positions throughout the company meet FSLA and pay standards.

·         Shares Payroll responsibilities and provides backup as needed for semi-monthly and weekly payroll runs for salaried and hourly employees.

·         Maintains employee documentation, including attendance and time-off requests.

·         Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, terminating, and enrolling employees/new hires in benefit programs.

·         Takes appropriate disciplinary action for employee rules and regulations violations and addresses employee grievances.

·         Creates write ups and performance improvement plans to maintain work environment and performance standards.

·         Manages Benefit plans and Leaves of Absence.

·         Manages supply orders for all departments.

·         Plans company events & parties in conjunction with Creative Director.

·         Supports employees as point of contact for all employee questions, concerns and other matters.

·         Maintains confidentiality at all times.

REQUIREMENTS:

·         B.A. or equivalent experience.

·         5+ years of relevant and comprehensive HR experience.

·         Current with labor law requirements, and HR best practices.

·         Preferred experience with Safety practices/OSHA regulations.

·         Well-experienced with Benefits administration.

·         Able to facilitate required training and development programs.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking.

·         Provides a solution-driven mentality regarding employee relations and representing upper management.

·         Well-hones leadership and coaching skills.

·         Possesses strong empathy and interpersonal skills.

·         Detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills.

·         Good team, leadership and interpersonal skills.  A bridge-builder.

·         Preferred experience in the Design/Garment Manufacturing or related Industries.
