We're looking for an entry level welder to train into a fabricator. Must have MIG and TIG welding education already. Will be weld tested.

High quality artistic welding and fine finishes is the program. We make furniture, chandeliers, kitchen range hoods, signs, art, and metalwork for restaurants. Welds and surface finishes need to be clean and attractive. Fabricators always participate in cutting, preparing, and fitting material for projects. Cleaning and surface finishing is part of the job.

Weld test will be:

  • TIG welding 18ga 304ss coupons, butt weld. Looking for the material to be flat, not warped.
  • TIG welding 1/8" thick 5052 Aluminum coupons, butt weld. Looking for tight weld with good penetration and even shape.
  • MIG weld square steel tube onto 1/4" steel plate coupon. Looking for even shape, no building up, smooth transitions around corners.
  • Tape measure reading also tested. Must read to 1/16” with ease.

Good work on these three examples is required to be hired.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products.
  • Drilling, tapping, countersinking, grinding, sanding, forming / bending sheet, rolling tube, cutting raw materials, and surface finishing parts is all part of the job.
  • Parts must be square, straight, flat, true, perpendicular, or angled per the drawing packet.
  • Follow blueprints in order to meet product specifications.
  • TIG welding steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and brass.
  • MIG welding steel, and aluminum.
  • Operating forklift.
  • Keeping work area clean and safe.
  • Deliver/install jobs to customer sites.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's license
  • Safety boots, non-flammable clothing
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be a team player with good communication skills.
  • Physical capacity to stand, bend, and stoop for a full 8hr shift.
  • Able to lift 50lb repeatedly.
  • Has the Craftsman attitude - Shows up every day trying to learn something new about metal fabrication

Standard hours are M-F 7:00am - 3:30pm with occasional overtime offered. Weekly pay schedule.

Company contribution to medical insurance $200. Dental and Vision insurance available at employee expense.
