Job Overview

Position: Bilingual Welder

Shift: 8:00am – 5:00pm (Overtime required on Saturdays)

Compensation: $16.00/hour

Key Responsibilities

As a Bilingual Welder, you will be responsible for:

  • Setting up and operating welding machinery to produce assigned components as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Joining metal parts using various welding techniques, including brazing, arc, and gas welding, to fabricate or repair aluminum or steel structures.
  • Preparing materials by measuring, cutting, and verifying against work orders and technical drawings.
  • Assembling components in readiness for subsequent operations.
  • Utilizing stick, Metal Inert Gas (MIG), and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding methods to complete sub-assemblies or finished products.
  • Conducting non-destructive testing (NDT) using magnetic particle or dye penetrant techniques.
  • Performing additional tasks such as drilling, thermal cutting, and grinding as needed.
  • Repairing damaged parts, filling gaps, and resizing metal components.
  • Positioning and securing metal parts in preparation for welding.
  • Maintaining welding equipment, fixtures, and jigs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Keeping the work area clean and organized.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of 18 months of welding and fitting experience in a manufacturing setting or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Proficiency in understanding prep and weld symbols.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Capability to read measuring tapes and convert decimal measurements to fractions.
  • Skill in stacking dimensions to verify the accuracy of technical drawings.
