This is a full-time on-site role for a Compliance Specialist at our Evansville, IN location. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for managing compliance requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and performing analytical tasks related to compliance. The role also involves maintaining legal compliance and effective communication.

 

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to background screening.
  • Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance requirements.
  • Consumer Protection:
  • Handle consumer disputes and inquiries related to background checks.
  • Ensure compliance with adverse action and consumer reporting requirements.
  • Process consumer report disputes and reinvestigations.
  • Client Support:
  • Provide compliance guidance and support to clients.
  • Assist clients in understanding and meeting their compliance obligations.
  • Develop and deliver compliance-related training to clients.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Review and monitor background screening processes for compliance adherence.
  • Identify and address quality control issues.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent compliance breaches.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance documentation.
  • Prepare compliance reports for management and regulatory agencies.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in legal studies, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Compliance experience in the background screening, banking, healthcare or other industry
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
