Job Description: The Service Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and expanding our field workforce, ensuring they are well-trained and efficient. The role also includes performing backflow tests, managing projects, and driving sales efforts. This diverse position is ideal for a proactive leader who can balance technical service with strategic growth initiatives.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Team Management: Lead, train, and expand our field workforce, ensuring high performance and professional development.
  • Technical Service: Oversee the servicing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of plumbing and related systems for commercial and industrial clients.
  • Backflow Testing: Perform and manage backflow inspections and certifications in Virginia (certification required within 90 days if not already licensed).
  • Project Management: Handle various project management duties as needed, ensuring timely and quality completion of work.
  • Sales: Contribute to sales initiatives, leveraging technical knowledge to support business growth.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct site surveys, preventive maintenance, replacements, and customer-requested modifications.
  • Technical Support: Stay current on manufacturer products and provide technical support to customers.

 

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in field plumbing operations, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
  • Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical control systems, as well as fuel oil, natural gas, and propane systems.
  • Proficiency in reading, understanding, and working from blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
  • Master or Journeyman's license.
  • Virginia backflow inspection license or ability to obtain license within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Prior knowledge of Plumbing and Boiler Systems preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Prior military experience is a plus.
