Job Description: The Plumbing Service Technician will play a crucial role in servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and maintaining plumbing and related systems for our commercial and industrial customers. The role also includes performing backflow tests, managing projects, and contributing to sales efforts. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who can balance technical service with customer relations and business development. This position will be primarily located in the Northern Virginia/DC area.

 

Essential Functions:

• Technical Service: Service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing and related systems for commercial and industrial clients.

• Backflow Testing: Perform backflow inspections and certifications in Virginia (certification required within 90 days if not already licensed).

• Project Management: Assist with various project management duties as needed, ensuring timely and quality completion of work.

• Sales: Support sales initiatives by leveraging technical knowledge to identify opportunities and provide solutions to customers.

• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct site surveys, preventive maintenance, replacements, and customer-requested modifications.

• Technical Support: Stay current on manufacturer products and provide technical support to customers.

 

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen/legal authorization to work in the U.S.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Valid Driver’s License.

• 4+ years of relevant experience in field plumbing operations, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.

• Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical control systems, as well as fuel oil, natural gas, and propane systems.

• Proficiency in reading, understanding, and working from blueprints, specifications, and schematics.

• Virginia backflow inspection license or ability to obtain license within the first 90 days of employment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior knowledge of Plumbing and Boiler Systems.

• Master, Journeyman, or apprentice license.

• Prior military experience is a plus.
