We are a residential and commercial general contracting and design-build firm based in the West Metro area of Minnesota. Our mission is to offer clients a professional, dependable, and honest approach to business, fostering long-term relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to prepare estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services based on project plans and specifications.
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, designers and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure that estimates align with project objectives. Solicit subcontractor quotes and assess them for accuracy.
  • Prepare bid proposals and pricing documents for submission to clients, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability.
  • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services.
  • Manage project budgets. Monitor project expenses throughout the construction phase, comparing actual costs to estimated costs and identifying any discrepancies.
  • Maintain detailed records of estimates, proposals, change orders, and other relevant documentation.
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, construction technology advancements, and regulatory changes to improve estimating processes and accuracy.
  • Prepare documentation to set reasonable expectations and meet deadlines. Schedule, coordinate and lead internal estimate reviews in a timely manner with management team.
  • Conduct site visits independently or with team members to gather information for estimates and initial project assessments.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and walk-throughs.
  • Oversee multiple projects at one time.
  • Oversee and Coordinate job schedules with the customers, and subcontractors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry. 5 years (Preferred)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • A highly motivated, self-starting individual that is goal oriented.
  • A high-level understanding of field takes offs and estimating.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks
  • Experience with pipeline management and builder trend software preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail with an emphasis placed on quality.
  • Clear, accurate, and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated abilities in planning, problem-solving, and decision making.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on teamwork, customer service, and safe working practices.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and/or tasks simultaneously
  • Must be a team player, have a positive attitude and a good work ethic.
