Structural/Mechanical CAD Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Seeking a Structural/Mechanical Drafter specifically with AutoCAD experience.
• 5+ yrs experience with AutoCAD drafting for structural, mechanical (not HVAC), piping, architecture, reading plans, redlines, and diagrams
• Design mechanical equipment such as conveyors, chain transfer tables, and log decks, platforms, concrete and steel structures and foundations in industrial manufacturing projects. Industries served include wood products and steelmaking.
• Production of construction documents such as arrangements, section, and detail drawings and construction specifications. Shop drawing preparation and review.
• Field work includes physical work to measure existing equipment and structures, recording field observations and measurements legibly in field notes.
• Operate simple surveying equipment.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Develops drawings, updates drawing layouts of equipment, mechanical, electrical layout, architectural and structural. Use AutoCAD to update drawings and create models.
• Communications abilities include working collaboratively in office teams, verbal and written communication with customers, vendors, and contractors.
• Applicants must be able to read blueprints, plans, specifications, and prepare construction documents with supervision.
• Works well under close supervision; receives specific and detailed instructions for required tasks and produces results with the opportunity to exercise judgment.
• Work closely with engineers to develop strategies, update designs, and draft red lines and markups.
• Able to travel short or long distances to job sites and possible overnight stays.
• Experience in working in the field.
• Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook,
• Good written and verbal communication skills (will be working with clients and vendors).
• Work well in a team environment.
• Physical requirements: can climb ladders, pick up 25 pounds, operate a motor vehicle
