South Florida Physician in Port Saint Lucie is seeking an experienced Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant/Surgical Scheduler. This is an excellent full-time opportunity for an individual looking for long term employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Room patients, perform intake, take vital signs, and document accurately.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of injection sites.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Perform aseptic procedures.
  • Carry out office procedures including general administrative duties (i.e., phones, scheduling, referrals).
  • Collect patient demographics, data, vital signs, height, weight, and basic information about patients' present and previous conditions.
  • Arrange examining room instruments and equipment.
  • Collect specimens using non-invasive techniques.
  • Preserve specimens for testing.
  • Perform venipuncture.
  • Provide patient information and instructions.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with patients and medical facilities.
  • Ensure all pre-operative and post-operative appointments are arranged.
  • Verify patient insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations for surgeries.
  • Communicate surgical instructions and details to patients, ensuring they understand preparation and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records related to surgical procedures.
  • Liaise with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to ensure smooth scheduling and patient care.
  • Handle any scheduling conflicts or changes efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure all necessary medical documentation and clearances are obtained prior to surgery.
