We are seeking a motivated Accounting Associate with 3-5 years of experience in real estate accounting to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in real estate financial management and possess proficiency in using industry- standard software such as Yardi and Appfolio. This role will be pivotal in supporting our property accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records specific to property management, and contributing to the overall financial health of our operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform bank reconciliations for property accounts and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Process property-related accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with property managers and regional teams to address property accounting inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of property-level financial data and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor property cash flows and assist in property budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of property-level financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist in year-end property tax preparations and provide necessary support to CPAs for tax return preparation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in property accounting standards.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting specific to property operations as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Proficiency in using Yardi and Appfolio software platforms is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with real estate accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
