Control Room Operations Specialist

Job Summary
This position is for a Control Room Operations Specialist. This individual must be dedicated, hardworking, and a team player. This position is responsible for tasks including grain unloading, storage, handling, blending, loading, and monitoring equipment. It is necessary for this individual to have a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and to be able to handle multiple tasks at one time. This is a demanding position that requires efficiency and focus while maintaining a safe work environment.
Job Duties/responsibilities
-Enter and maintain logistical data on all inbound rail/barge traffic.
-Maintain grain stocks and grading concurrent with house inventory practices.
-Effectively monitor and maintain rail/barge unloading, vessel loading operations.
-Blending grain for shipment per load order requirements and documenting vessel loading operations.
-Monitor, observe, and maintain the operation of equipment using the equipment interface to maintain specified operating levels and to detect equipment malfunctions.
-Ability to comprehend both written and oral instruction as directed.
-Communicate with the walking boss to facilitate vessel loading operations.
-Assign task to hourly labor force as directed by supervisor.
-Physical duties to include but not limited to climbing vessel gangway to complete vessel paperwork, maintain housekeeping of sampling room, ascend/descend ladders, measure bins for house inventory.
-Ability to multitask and prioritize to maintain an efficient workflow.
-Ability to maintain composure and demonstrate logical reasoning in stressful situations.
-Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of entities to include Longshoreman, railroads, barge lines, ship agents, contractors, WSDA, and labor crews.
-Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Proficiency in computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
-Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
-Good phone etiquette skills
-High attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
-Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
-Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment.
-Ability to obtain TWIC and USDA weigher license.
-Must have valid US driver’s license.
