**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Mfg. Production Planner. The ideal candidate have 3-5 years of relevant experience and will be responsible for purchasing materials, components, and supplies necessary for our manufacturing processes while effectively planning production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and optimal inventory levels.
**Responsibilities:**
- Plan/schedule all molding machines in the manufacturing department effectively.
- Work hands on on the production floor to ensure schedules are being adhered to and act as an expediter when needed.
- Procure raw materials, components, and supplies required for plastic injection molding production.
- Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost-effective procurement.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to understand material requirements and forecast demand accurately.
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and lead times.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt and delivery of materials.
- Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Generate reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and supplier performance for management review.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Production Planning in a manufacturing environment.
-Procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on plastic injection molding.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Proficiency in inventory management and production planning concepts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain management software is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
