Summary:

The Lead Inspectors responsibility is to test items, identify and document defects, analyze products, and return defect products to adhere to client’s requirements and industry standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the internal inspection process to assure compliance with purchase order requirements utilizing AIT systems & processes.
  • Performs inspections using precision measurement equipment/devices.
  • Verifies measurements on the line, or when applicable bringing a part to a separate temperature-controlled room time to time for analyses.
  • Helps to create more efficient workflows and streamlines the inspection process.
  • Inspects parts on a FIFO basis, unless there is urgent inspection required on other parts.
  • Works along with the production force to build quality-in at the source.
  • Coordinate calibration/re-calibration activities and maintains all records of various tools, instruments and gauges used for product acceptance or verification/validation.
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
  • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications.
  • Ensures proper operation of measurement equipment by following operating instructions.
  • Reports non-conformities to the proper channel.
  • Develops quality data packages for customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five years of quality inspection related experience and/or training
  • Minimum of two years in Aerospace manufacturing/ tooling
  • Able to locate reference point(s) on parts and measure dimensions such as angle, arc, and radii, using combinations of aids, such as surface plate parallel bars, angle plates, gauge blocks, plug pins, V blocks, sine bars, and precision measuring instruments such as a height gage.
  • Enova min level 2, 2D/MBS 3D min level 2 and/or Catia experience preferred.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
