Job DescriptionJob Description

This position is responsible for the inspection of parts (both internal and vendor supplied) at various stages in order to verify that they meet print requirements. This position includes maintaining, repairing and calibrating Mark Andy inspection gages and tools within the calibration system maintained by the Senior Quality Technician. Assist in the development and operation of quality control systems, application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Technician must be trained and be able to operate both Press and Digital PRO equipment.
  • Perform the set up and technical inspections of the Press & Digital PRO Standard and Custom products.
  • Work with Project Managers and Team Lead to ensure the test plans / spec sheets are properly documented and that all options are tested properly during the inspection cycle.
  • Work with and assist the Final Mechanical and Electrical Assemblers to ensure issues are addressed properly and are completed in a timely manner.
  • Work with Team Lead and Assembly Management to move quality inspection steps as far back in the assembly process as possible, as to identify / resolve issues earlier in the build cycle.
  • Test and Validate the equipment along with all options and shooting videos of the options as tested. Verify all Inspection and Discrepancy items and required photos are taken and completed.
  • Review the STO, 6 Sigma and EDS sheets to verify the press is configured properly and use these documents to put together the Machine Packing list (along with taking photos)
  • Assist Final Assembly and Crating making sure all Press/Digital PRO, Press/Digital PRO pack out items, and CP items are properly organized and labeled with ID sheets/Barcode labels and staged for shipment.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to ensure properly tested, HIGH quality machine is shipped to the customer.
  • Perform Layered Process Quality Audits throughout the machine assembly process.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written
  • Have thorough knowledge of the lean principles.
  • Strong customer focus

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Education: High School/GED

· 2-5 years’ experience in related field, preferably in quality, printing and manufacturing

· Demonstrated ability to produce high quality products with company equipment.

· High level of technical knowledge in narrow web flexographic print applications.

· Skilled in use of calipers, feeler-gauges, and the required diagnostic equipment used in testing the Press and Digital PRO equipment.

Work Environment
Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility’s production floor or customer’s production environment.

Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer’s facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
