Job Overview


BBP is looking for a Process Excellence Technician (PE Tech) to work alongside the Process Excellence Engineer & Director of Process Excellence to ensure that the equipment, facility, and processes are maintained, functioning as intended, and meet the requirements of the customer. The PE Tech will also assist in the onboarding of new equipment used in new procedures and/or to improve existing procedures.  


Role and Responsibilities

    • Troubleshoot malfunction equipment and/or parts. 
    • Organize and maintain all equipment forms and Equipment Management System. 
    •  Monitor Building Management system, responding to out of spec Temperature, Humidity, and Differential Pressure Alerts and Alarms,   
    • Calibrate, qualify, validate, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment. 
    • Perform IQ/OQ and PQ if applicable for equipment, documenting as appropriate. 
    • Train staff on new and existing equipment usage and maintenance 
    • Assist quality in investigations and risk assessments.  
    • Manufacture product if necessary (Formulation and Filtration) 
    • Assist in Onboarding new equipment and procedures (process improvements, efficiency and/or customer requirements).  
    • Assist in ensuring equipment is controlled according to the SOP. 
    • Work on new projects assigned by the Process Excellence Engineer &/or Director of Process Excellence  


Qualifications and Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering, or any related background is a Plus but not required. 
    • Minimum of 0 – 2 years of experience working with equipment qualification, validation, or calibration 
    • Strong ability and desire to troubleshoot complex equipment and process issues. Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and change priorities while maintaining productivity. 
    • Familiarity with equipment used in the biotechnology industry. 
    • Familiarity with calibration and verification of lab equipment
    • Ability to work well independently and within a team. 
    • Familiarity with SOPs, WI’s, Qualification, Calibration and Validation documentation.  
    • Ability to stand and work in a lab environment for an extended period of time
    • Lift up to 50 pounds
    • Work underneath a Biological Safety Cabinet for an extended period of time
    • Work on-site Monday to Friday in the Milford, MA office (required)
