Summary of Position: The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the branch. Responsible for achieving the operational and financial goals set by the organization. Establish and maintain positive community relations. Develops and retain a well-trained and motivated personnel.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; College Degree preferred

Experience: 3-5 years management experience; management in DME preferred; knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid or other medical insurance billing requirements is preferred.

Requirements: Ability to work independently and with a team, computer skills appropriate to the position, knowledge of DME and medical services, good phone etiquette, ability to multi-task; experience in P&L, Public Speaking, Ability to effectively supervise, counsel and motive employees, Plan and prioritize personal and branch daily work schedule, Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information; Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times

Physical: Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 100lbs. with or without assistance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage branch operations to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, Joint Commission and state and federal regulations. Implement corrective action to correct deficiencies identified by analyzing internal data.

  2. Manage various personnel functions including hiring, discipline, new hire orientation, performance evaluations, development of staff and terminations.

  3. Manage all employees assigned to the branch and responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the branch.

  4. Regularly review of personnel supervised and assure staff are performing their jobs completely and as expected.

  5. Review financial statements, sales and activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement of the Branch.

  6. Responsible for the development of the branch’s profit plan and coordinates branch operations within expense control guidelines as determined by corporate.

  7. Responsible for sales and marketing activities of the branch; including the preparation of the annual marketing plan. Makes sales calls.

  8. Establish relationships with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in order to promote the good of our industry.

  9. Encouraged to participate in associations, professional societies and other organizations related to DME.

  10. Call on key referral sources and maintain positive working relationship with key accounts. Development of new referral sources.

  11. Confers with customers and representatives of associated home health products to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area.

  12. Responsible for branch asset management for inventory, accounts receivable and vehicles. Review any outside services utilized by the branch, such as cleaning service or answering service.

  13. Reviews and modifies inventory control program to maintain and enhance profitable operations.

  14. Responsible for Rx (prescription) control.

  15. Prepares all required paperwork and prepares and submits reports on a monthly basis.

  16. Responsible for overall patient care and coordination and distribution to patent homes.

  17. Maintain branch Performance Improvement Program

  18. Handle customer complaints courteously.

  19. Participate in branch and corporate training.

  20. Complies with company policies, instructions and directives for the fulfillment of company objectives to maximize profitable sales and rentals.
