Viking Property Management, LLC is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper to assist the Controller in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements.  Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are important for this position, as well as good customer relations and ability to communicate clearly.  The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Receive, get approval, and, when necessary, investigate vendor accounts payable invoices.
  • Input invoices, post cash receipts and perform inter-company billing into MRI Database Software.
  • Retrieve mail daily and mail checks when issued.
  • Process water meter readings for billing tenants.
  • Communicate with vendors, tenants, and relevant VPM staff.
  • Organize & store data & information in SharePoint.
  • Maintain subcontractor W9 & Insurance Certificates for risk & liability minimization.
  • Assist with payroll in QuickBooks.
  • Bank Reconciliations and Vendor Account Reconciliations.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Required to have or become a Notary Public. (Company Reimbursed)

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Min 2 years accounting and bookkeeping experience. Real Estate and/or Property Management experience a plus.
  • Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation (Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Excel, other accounting software)

 Physical Demands / Working Conditions

  • Sitting for extended periods of time completing tasks at the computer and other office equipment
  • Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with occasional standing, walking, and reaching.
