We are a fast growing East Bay based construction company seeking a full time construction payroll and accounting administrator to join our team. Candidates must have previous public works/government construction office experience.

Job Summary:

As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organization. You will be responsible for managing payroll data, reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting software, human resources, double entry bookkeeping, tax regulations, and payroll management.

 

Responsibilities:

- Process weekly union and non-union payroll data for 50-60 employees accurately and in a timely manner.

- Verify and reconcile payroll information to ensure accuracy.

- Handle all aspects of payroll management including deductions, bonuses, and taxes.

- Collaborate with the HR department to address any payroll-related inquiries or issues.

- Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

- Assist with data entry tasks related to payroll processing and Accounts Payable

-Assist with processing expense reports and reimbursements.

-Process Union fringes for multiple unions.

-Certified Payroll reporting.

-Process new hire paperwork and maintain employee records.

-Utilize accounting software such as Viewpoint Spectrum Construction software and ADP for payroll functions.

-Support accounts payable processes as needed.

 

Experience:

- Proven experience in payroll administration or related field.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

- Proficiency in data entry and clerical tasks.

- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

- Prior experience with double entry bookkeeping is preferred.
