Director of Operations (Senior Nutrition)

The Director of Operations is responsible for all nutrition site day to day operations for both Riverside & San Bernardino Counties

The Director is responsible for the development of the Food Service Supervisors (4) , maintaining program contract required program services, documentation, necessary to insure program operations adhere to the Agency policies, and funders reporting requirements. All other duties as assigned by the Program Administrator

This position will also have Agency responsibilities as directed by the Program Administrator or Senior FSA Management

Essential Duties:

Specific duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Problem solves management issues and keeps Programs Administrator informed of key issues/concerns.
  2. Insures that program operations remains within contract/funding source and Agency, guidelines/requirement, program payroll and operating expenses with the Program administrator
  3. Program staff development, including performance evaluation, training and coaching.
  4. Works cooperatively with Program Administrator on HR and personnel issues
  5. Assists Program Administrator on accounting/fiscal issues related to the Senior Nutrition program.
  6. Development of program menus, inventory controls with FSA dietitian, Procurement Manager and Food Service Supervisors
  7. Day to day implementation under the oversight of the Program Administrator of program’s Continuous Quality Improvement Processes
  8. Oversight of Volunteer program requirements in collaboration with FSA’s Volunteer Coordinator.
  9. Demonstrates support and involvement in Agency Team Building, strategic planning and other activities as assigned.
  10. Other activities and duties as needed and assigned
  11. Punctual and regular attendance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA with 2 years of related supervisory/management experience or a comparable work history in a managerial capacity
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) candidate preferred
  • Ability to communicate/interact well with the community, senior citizens, business and government professionals. Good communication skills, oral and written, computer literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Live scan clearance and background check
  • Covid vaccine required
  • Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to assure the ability to read and write English and to communicate at the level required for successful job performance.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Current Food Handlers Permit required
  • Valid and current California’s Driver’s License
  • Up to date proof of car insurance
  • The following must be obtained with in 90 days of hire and maintained as
  • a condition of employment:
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Food Safety Managers Certification
