Summary:

The Parts and Service Supervisor is responsible for driving service department sales and productivity; training and directing Service Technicians; providing excellent customer service through servicing and repairing trailers and installing truck beds, snowplows, towing systems and other related products; ensuring that parts and supplies are ordered, received and cycle counted; managing the service process and systems.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

Responsible for maintaining organization and a safe working environment in the service department. Engage customers with parts, service, and installation solutions. Selling parts and service while managing the service department to ensure that revenue, efficiency, and margin goals are met. Perform service work when necessary. Accurately maintain parts and supplies inventory for store and service department. Profitability of the service department.

 

Essential Functions

•Sell parts and service. Source and prospect service and parts business with focus on commercial accounts.

•Supervise Service Technicians and schedule service jobs with the goal of maximizing productivity and profitability.

•Maintain parts inventory for store including purchasing of parts, receiving PO’s, and Cycle Counts.

•Manage the Warranty process.

•Hire, train and coach Service Technicians.

•Maintain state licensing as required.

•Responsible for equipment/vehicle maintenance and certifications.

•Complete service documents and scheduling utilizing My Trailer Force accurately and timely.

•Maintain service parts log and submit to management as required.

•Perform inspection validating quality of work and accuracy to the work order.

•Controlling expenses in the service department to stay within in budget (Labor, supplies, maintenance, etc.)

•Follow and uphold company safety policies and practices for the department.

•Support opening and closing the facility as directed.

•Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education, Experience and Credentials

1.High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

2.Proven ability to weld (MIG and oxy-acetylene)

3.Valid Driver’s License

 

Preferred Education and Experience

1.Trade School Diploma

2.3-5years applicable work experience

3.Previous supervisory experience

 

Physical Demands To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to:

•Talk and hear, read, write understand and communicate by telephone and in person using the English language.

•Must be able to read written instructions, parts lists, technical manuals, and diagrams.

•The employee is regularly required to use hands for typing or telephone dialing. Regular use of hands for feeling, grasping or manipulating objects, tools, or controls. Regular using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.

•Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

•The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, move over uneven surfaces.

•The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

•Frequent operation of computers, cash register, telephone and printer/copier/scanner/fax.

•Regular operation of tractors, forklifts and other power equipment.
