Objective
To maximize our incredible opportunities through strategic sourcing of critical supplies, development of great relationships with key suppliers, and supporting the needs of our operations team.
Essential Functions
• Negotiates prices, volume requirements, and transportation arrangements with suppliers
• Creates and analyzes reports from ERP system to determine current and anticipated product demand
• Collaborates with vendors to obtain and/or develop desired products
• Compares transportation options to determine the most cost-efficient options
• Researches and develops cost-reduction strategies and savings plans through buying strategies
• Locates vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies, and interviews them to determine product availability and terms of sales
• Prepares and processes purchase orders for needed products
• Investigates records of goods ordered and received
• Participates with the Engineering department in the development of specifications for products needed
• Works closely with operations to ensure proper supply availability
• Performs other duties as assigned
Prerequisites
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience purchasing, required
Skills, Abilities and Competencies
• Aggressively peruses savings through purchasing
• Active Listener and Team Player
• Problem Solving and conflict resolution skills
• Oral, Speech, and Written Comprehension
• Organizes, plans, and prioritizes work
• Multi-tasks between different projects while meeting deadlines

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to:
• Sit; walk; talk and hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, crawl, reach, stand and stretch
• The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
• The employee is required to move around the office, warehouse, and shop floor
• Scheduled hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm but may occasionally require additional hours as business needs change
