The Public Archaeology Laboratory, Inc. is a full-service New England cultural resource management firm. We offer archaeological services primarily in New England and the Mid-Atlantic regions. Our clients include governmental agencies, corporations, engineering firms, and private developers from the energy, telecommunications, transportation, and environmental market sectors.

The Accounting Manager performs various accounting tasks supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This role takes part in the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of the organization’s general ledger to ensure accurate, and reliable reporting of financial results in compliance with standard accounting practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provides key support to CFO with accurate and timely work and participates in special projects as needed
  • Oversees accounting procedures as they pertain to AP/AR/GL
  • Prepares payroll in ADP
  • Reconciles monthly bank and investment accounts
  • Prepares workpapers and account analysis in support of year-end financial and overhead audits
  • Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent field
  • Must have a minimum of five years’ progressive accounting experience

Compensation

  • $65,000 to $80,000 Based on experience.
