Position: Civil Engineer – Entry Level


Reports to: Department Manager – Civil


General Qualities:

- Strong verbal and written skills are required. Is a proactive self-starter.

- Provides technical support.

- Work well with others in a group setting.

- Capable of developing solutions to problems.

- Excellent writing skills.


Responsibilities:

- Site/civil design including grading, roadway, storm water management, green infrastructure, water and sewer mains, signing, and erosion and sediment control design.

- Preparation of associated calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.

- Working on design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.

- Plan preparation using AutoCAD.

- Field work including investigations, data collection, sign and roadway infrastructure inventory collection, and observation of soil borings.

- Familiar with all company policies and procedures and verifies implementation and compliance.

Requirements:

Educational/Professional Requirements


- B.S. in Civil Engineering.

- Previous internship experience is desired.

- EIT is desired but not required.

- Experience with AutoCAD is strongly preferred.

- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Proficiency in MS Office software

- Familiarity with agencies standards and protocols including: NJDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDDC, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, and NJTA is a plus.
