The Visual Media Production Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing a wide range of creative media to help share the story of Novo’s mission in order to cultivate partners, staff, and subscribers into a deeper relationship with Novo.


Reporting to the Communications Director, the Visual Media Production Specialist will coordinate with team members across Novo on a variety of projects, including establishing project deliverables, developing video and photo content, and processing delivery to achieve stated goals.


Responsibilities

  • Work with the Communications Team and others on Mission Advancement to implement a strategic visual media communication plan that aligns with the mission of Novo and our core messages that effectively informs, inspires, and invites deeper engagement with the mission.
  • Produce creative and engaging video content for various platforms, including websites, social media channels, YouTube, and other digital platforms and optimize for SEO.
  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute video projects from start to finish, including coordinating with Novo staff around the world, travel, storyboarding, scriptwriting, filming, editing, and post-production.
  • Travel: 2–3 international trips per year for video shoots and an additional 2-5 trips within the US
  • Shoot and collect still photography of Novo’s ministry in action, including photos of staff and volunteers, ministry locations, etc. 
  • Collaborate with external vendors, agencies, or freelancers when needed for specialized video projects or additional resources.
  • Monitor and provide monthly reports on video performance metrics, such as views, engagement, and conversions as well as provide insights and recommendations for future video content.
  • Prepare and post videos to Novo’s Comm channels – specifically social media
  • Maintain records of all Novo’s video assets and ensure accessibility for other Novo staff
  • Participation in team meetings, conferences, and other organizational events as requested by the Associate Director or Director of Partner Development.


Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform each essential duty with a high degree of competence. 


  • Excellent communication skills, including phone, writing, and in-person communication, and ability to successfully articulate and present Novo’s vision, mission, initiatives, and field stories through visual media. 
  • Proficiency in videography and video editing software. Proficiency in photography and photo editing software.
  • Strong knowledge of video production, including lighting, sound, composition, and visual storytelling techniques.
  • Ability to interpret the brand's voice and style, ensuring videos align with the brand guidelines and overall marketing strategy.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to seamlessly edit footage, add visual effects, and enhance overall video quality.
  • Superb people skills and ability to develop rapport, inspire trust, and relate harmoniously and professionally with potential and existing Novo partners, team members, and staff in an array of cross-cultural settings.
  • Ability to see what needs to be done and take initiative; does not need directive leadership.
  • A team player who is enthusiastic, flexible, emotionally mature, diplomatic, and able to collaborate with others at all levels of responsibility, yet also be totally self-motivated and able to work independently while maintaining a work environment of excellence and productivity.
  • Knowledge of current video trends and best practices across various digital platforms.
  • Ability to work under pressure, balance a variety of event tasks and deadlines simultaneously, and keep organized.
  • Content management experience
  • Understanding of SEO best practices for video content and the ability to optimize videos to improve visibility and engagement.
  • Familiarity with graphic design principles and the ability to incorporate graphics and animations into video content is a plus.
  • Familiarity with video analytics and tracking tools to measure video performance and make data-driven decisions. 


Specific Experience:  Strong portfolio that showcases video production and editing skills and demonstrates creativity, technical proficiency, and effective storytelling abilities


Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Film Production, Media Studies, or a similar discipline or significant experience executing visual media projects for other nonprofits or ministries
