We are seeking a dedicated bilingual In-Home Counselor to join our team You will provide in-home, support and crisis intervention program for families located in Northampton and Lehigh County. Families who have children at risk of out-of-home placement or who have children scheduled for reunification are referred by Children and Youth.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish open lines of communication with clients who are in crisis.
  • Maintains a caseload of 1-2 families and must be directly accessible to families.
  • Implement and teach problem resolution skills and techniques focusing on crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with additional treatment providers and county caseworkers.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Meet with supervisor weekly to discuss the happenings of the cases.
  • Vehicle with current insurance and registration.
  • Current driver's license with a good driving record of at least two years.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in counseling, working with crisis intervention or other related fields.
  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Social Work or other related fields.
  • Familiarity with community resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work independently.
