Summary:

As the Sourcing Manager for Schwan Cosmetics USA, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, packaging, and other goods necessary for our production processes. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, you will play a critical role in optimizing supplier relationships, managing contracts, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support the company's growth objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

Sourcing Strategy Development

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Conduct market analysis and supplier assessments to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and supplier diversification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and develop sourcing plans accordingly.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards, delivery schedules, and contractual obligations.
  • Proactively address supplier issues and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement.

Procurement Execution

  • Lead the procurement process from RFx creation through supplier selection, negotiation, and contract award.
  • Ensure timely and accurate purchase order placement, tracking order status and managing delivery schedules to meet production requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve procurement-related issues and facilitate effective communication with suppliers.

Cost Management and Optimization

  • Analyze cost drivers and identify opportunities for cost reduction and cost avoidance through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends and commodity prices to inform sourcing decisions and minimize supply chain risks.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality and supplier performance standards.

Contract Management

  • Manage supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, pricing, and service levels.
  • Review contract terms regularly and renegotiate as necessary to optimize terms and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure contract compliance and resolve contractual disputes.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the sourcing function, leveraging technology and data analytics to drive efficiencies.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to streamline sourcing processes and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional teams and strategic initiatives to support company-wide goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the cosmetics or FMCG industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in sourcing strategy development, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cosmetics manufacturing and sourcing preferred.
