Job Description:

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and tax obligations. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Accurately process bi-weekly/weekly/monthly payrolls for all employees, including regular, overtime, and special payments.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of payroll taxes, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Deductions and Benefits: Manage and process deductions, including health benefits, retirement plans, and garnishments.
  • Records Management: Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in job status, salary, and benefits.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit payroll reports to management, finance, and HR departments as required.
  • Audits: Assist with internal and external payroll audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain and update payroll systems and ensure data integrity.
  • HR Duties: Assisting with recruitment/onboarding process's as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of [3-5] years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, or similar), payroll procedures, and federal/state payroll regulations.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • High proficiency in MS Excel and other Office Suite applications.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Certification: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus.
