We are seeking an Estimating Assistant to play a pivotal role in supporting our Sales and Estimating team with the preparation of accurate and competitive bids. You will be responsible for compiling cost proposals for new potential projects in the industrial electrical industry, including preparing quotations, managing customer accounts, and working with sales partners. As the Estimating Assistants, you assist Senior Estimators in reviewing project specs and drawings, coordinating with vendors, sales partners and compiling project cost proposals. The position will require good knowledge and prior use of quotation tools, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, Procore, L2L, and other software/portals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to kickstart their estimating or project management career. The position may require limited travel for customer and vendor visits.  

 

Salary Base: $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 plus commission

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Senior Estimator in preparing project cost proposals.
  • Maintain current client relationships through timely communication and follow up.
  • Review customers electrical specifications and drawings to determine what products are required.
  • Work with vendors to get current pricing and lead times on components.
  • Assist in preparing schedules to present to customers to meet their project timelines.
  • Negotiate project terms and conditions with both vendors and customers including progress payments, liquidated damages, warranty, onsite service, lead time, and other requirements.  
  • Help in preparing change order quotations for ongoing projects.  
  • Assist in preparing presentations, sketches, and contracts for potential new projects.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and stay up to date with current product knowledge.
  • Assist in addressing and resolving client concerns or questions as needed.
  • Attending daily department meetings to coordinate with team and director on tracking projects, recording individual/team performance metrics, and assisting other team members on projects.  
  • Help coordinate with engineering teams to standardize components and maximize company efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attending product training on components used in QES products.
  • Researching new product vendors for QES to source components from.
  • Work with customers to finalize terms and conditions.
  • Assist others in the Estimating department as needed.
