We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join our growing Sales Team and support our St Louis micro market, coffee, and corporate dining division.

Apex is an in-office firm, and all our professionals are within a commutable distance of one of our offices.

YOUR TEAM.

The Business Development Executive is responsible for leading all aspects of the sales process, including systematic prospect targeting, development of opportunity-specific sales strategy, assessing prospects needs to identify the right solution to present them with, and quarterbacking" the entire sales process. This individual will build and maintain robust sales pipelines and forecasts associated with substantiated opportunities, prepare and facilitate presentations/proposals, work with our telemarking partners, close sales, and finalize customer agreements.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of success, ideally in cold calling and prospecting. For individuals with sales leadership experience, this individual contributor role may also serve as the team lead for the future growth and development of our client base.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Externally source and qualify opportunities with prospects Apex does not currently serve.
  • Actively collaborate across teams internally to understand the company offerings and appropriate client profiles.
  • Responsible for executing the sales plan and process, including coordinating all necessary internal and external resources to best position the company to secure the business.
  • Actively work networking contacts, professional affiliations, industry groups, and related Centers of Influence.
  • Work with Apex Management and Ownership and industry partners to effectively identify and target key companies.
  • Support Partners, Principals, and Directors in cross-selling additional services to existing clients where appropriate.

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with demonstrated success in prospecting, cold calling, and closing new business
  • Ability to drive and participate in the proposal and Statement of Work creation process through the close of the deal
  • Excellent influence and negotiation skills; strong executive presence and business acumen
  • Experience leveraging SalesForce CRM for report generation and sales tracking
  • Must be motivated and self-disciplined; must possess strong time management skills
  • Exhibit powerful communication, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel within 125 miles of the St Louis territory (occasional overnight travel when appropriate)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience and traits in any or all the following areas:

  • Education background desired. Teaching experience is helpful in our industry.
  • Strong work ethic desired.
