Location: Old Town Bluffton, SC **THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION

Full Time: Occasional overtime work may be required as job duties demand during month-end, year-end & audit.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The A/P Specialist is responsible for all A/P entry, assisting with application and analysis of import costs and providing general accounting support to the Director of Finance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties or special projects may be assigned.

Accounts Payable:

  • Post invoices, obtain manager approvals/coding and schedule items for payment for multiple locations.
  • Serve as the primary contact with Vendors to handle all issues while maintaining good relationships.
  • Prepare analysis, metrics, aging and other reporting.
  • Understand, maintain and assist in the continuous improvement of master data information and system functionality.

General Accounting / Retail Support

  • Ability to accurately download, analyze and prepare journal entries from large volumes of data.
  • Provide support to the Director of Finance including month-end closings, account reconciliations, financial analysis and budgeting/forecasting.
  • Input and reconcile Intercompany transactions.
  • Provide support to retail stores.
  • Ability to cross train and support Accounts Receivable.

Inventory and Purchasing Support

  • Assist in the development of various analysis including inventory, freight and import costs.
  • Liaise with China Office & support Procurement Manager.
  • Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
  • Ability to multi-task priorities and work autonomously.
  • Capable of functioning effectively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment dealing with Partners, Vendors, Warehouse and third parties.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be self-motivated, dependable and possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.

REQUIRED

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable, Costing, General Accounting or Retail Accounting
  • Technology savvy with experience using ERP systems
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills, specifically in Excel
  • High attention to detail
