We are seeking a skilled PowerBI Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying business intelligence solutions using Microsoft PowerBI. This role involves working closely with various departments to gather requirements, create insightful reports and dashboards, and provide actionable data-driven insights.

Pay: $55-$65/hr

Project: 4-6 weeks

Job Location: On Site in Sacramento

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, publish, and schedule PowerBI reports and dashboards.

-Pulling data from sources without API access, others are, QuickBooks Deskptop, ADP payroll, EASE, SmartCare (EHR) and Excel data.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing data validation and testing.

- Provide training and support to end-users on PowerBI tools and reports.

- Continuously improve reporting processes and stay updated with PowerBI advancements and best practices.

 

Qualifications:

- Proven experience with Microsoft PowerBI, including report and dashboard development.

- Strong understanding of data modeling, SQL, and DAX.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in the finance or healthcare industry.

- Knowledge of other BI tools and technologies.

- Microsoft PowerBI certification.

 

Steps of data conversion into Power BI for creating dashboards and other visual data:

 

1. Data Connection:

- Connect to data sources (e.g., databases, Excel files, cloud services).

- Import or establish live connections to retrieve data.

 

2. Data Transformation:

- Clean and preprocess data using Power Query Editor.

- Remove duplicates, handle missing values, and format data as needed.

 

3. Data Modeling:

- Create relationships between different data tables.

- Define measures, calculated columns, and hierarchies using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).

 

4. Visualization Creation:

- Select appropriate visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs, tables).

- Drag and drop fields to the report canvas to build visuals.

 

5. Dashboard Design:

- Arrange visuals on a single page or across multiple report pages.

- Customize visuals (e.g., colors, labels, titles) for clarity and impact.

 

6. Interactivity and Filters:

- Add slicers and filters to enable dynamic data exploration.

- Configure interactions between visuals to enhance user experience.

 

7. Publishing and Sharing:

- Publish the report to the Power BI service.

- Share the dashboard with stakeholders or embed it in applications.

 

8. Monitoring and Updating:

- Schedule data refreshes to ensure dashboards display the latest information.

- Continuously monitor performance and update dashboards as needed.
