Position Description:

LCG is seeking a Sr. IT Security Specialist who would be responsible for leading the identification, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of IT security products and services within the organization. This role involves architectural design, implementation of security measures, and coordination of efforts across multiple teams to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the organization’s information systems. The Specialist plays a key role in the Incident Response Team and may represent the organization in serious information security investigations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Identify requirements for IT security products and services.

· Develop plans, schedules, and estimates for resource needs.

· Define milestones and deliverables for security projects.

· Evaluate and coordinate the purchase and delivery of security products.

· Provide architectural design and coordinate the integration of security products into existing network environments.

· Implement and interpret policy directives, such as HSPD-7, and develop project plans for infrastructure protection.

· Establish and recommend infrastructure protection tools, methods, and technologies.

· Identify significant actual and potential cybersecurity problems, trends, and weaknesses.

· Recommend specific modifications and solutions to reduce information systems security risks.

· Develop strategies to respond to future security challenges.

· Establish technical or procedural enforcements for pertinent policies within the organization.

· Facilitate organization-wide communications to ensure information security awareness and compliance.

· Review proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks.

· Resolve integration security issues across disciplines.

· Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed systems.

· Serve as a key member of the Incident Response Team.

· Recommend actions for containment and remediation based on findings.

· Serve as an expert witness at trials and hearings if required.

· Perform firewall security upgrades, including testing and roll-out.

· Monitor and troubleshoot SSL VPN tunnels.

· Administer firewalls, maintaining and implementing security policies on Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks firewalls.

· Identify, evaluate, and implement information systems security tools.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

· Minimum of 10 years of IT security experience. The experience will need to include 5 years of experience as a System Administrator and 7 years of experience as a Security Administrator.

· Certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) is required.

· Proficiency with Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks solutions, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

· Familiarity with networking tools like Nmap, Wireshark, tcpdump, etc.

· Understanding of proxy and URL filtering services, SIEM operation, and common networking concepts and protocols (TCP/UDP, OSI Model, Layer 2/3 routing concepts).

· Ability to obtain Level 2 Secret (ANACI)
