Job DescriptionJob Description

Island Institute is seeking a Finance Associate who will work as a member of the Finance Team to perform tasks related to billing, accounts receivable, bank deposits, vendor invoices, accounts payable, and disbursements.  The position may also serve as backup for payroll processing.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • An associate degree in a business discipline or at least three (3) years of applicable experience in a bookkeeping role.
  • Experience in the daily operations of a finance department.
  • Proficiency with retail point-of-sale (POS) and accounting software.
  • Proficiency in a variety of IT environments - Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint.  Experience with Salesforce, Expensify and Great Plains is a plus.
  • A high degree of accuracy and efficiency in data entry.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and responsibilities.
  • Possess a friendly, customer-service focus with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately both orally and in writing.
  • Strict compliance with confidentiality around sensitive data both organizationally and of individuals.

Base pay for this position is $46,700 with a range that depends on experience and skills related to position responsibilities and qualifications.
