Position Overview

Community Corporation of Santa Monica is a Santa Monica based, non-profit organization committed to developing and managing affordable housing. The Bookkeeper – Accounts Payable is in charge of ensuring that the Organization’s bills are processed in an accurate, timely manner and in compliance with the Organization’s accounting policies and procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation ranges between $22.00 and $24.00 an hour. The Bookkeeper Accounts Payable is eligible for the following benefits:

  • Medical insurance

  • 4 weeks of paid vacation
  • 120 hours of sick time
  • Paid holidays
  • Paid sick leave
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • 9/80 work schedule
  • Every other Friday off

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices including: coding, posting invoices and cutting checks
  • Process other expenses including: utility bills, insurance bills, mortgage payments, etc.
  • Maintain accurate vendor ledgers and ensure vendor compliance with insurance requirements
  • Process year end 1099’s
  • Assist with preparation of year end audit schedules and working with auditors
  • Assist with various other accounting functions

Skills

  • Yardi / Yardi Payscan experience a plus
  • Multi-family real estate accounts payable experience preferred
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and hard worker
  • Ability to work independently
  • Reliable

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year or more job experience preferred

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional car travel, primarily in Santa Monica to visit properties in the Community Corporation of Santa Monica portfolio.
