Job Summary:

The Environmental Engineer is a critical role to the organization. The Environmental Engineer has end-to-end ownership of all activities that support environmental compliance and permitting.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, administer, and monitor compliance to all environmental regulations
  • Accountable for all state and federal reporting/permitting of air and wastewater
  • Identify and address environmental problems/complaints expediently and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Coach employees on how to improve their environmental habits in their work areas.
  • Remain current on all environmental compliance and other regulatory agencies standards
  • Work closely with Safety Manager on a daily basis

Education/Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or other related degree
  • 3 – 5 years environmental experience preferably in a foundry or manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Indiana environmental permitting is required
  • Knowledgeable in all State and Federal legal requirements pertaining to the job
  • Ability to recognize and positively impact environmental related issues
  • Ability to gather data, formulate statistical analysis and present recommendations to Management
  • Computer skills using MS Office Suite

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • This role works in both a typical office environment as well as our production areas
  • Our production environments require you to wear protective eyewear, noise reduction devices, etc. (e.g. machine shop, foundry) and they may have extreme temperatures
