Position Overview:

We are seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will design and maintain electrical control systems and PLC logic for our engineered-to-order machinery.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and review electrical control systems for all product lines.
  • Prepare schematic wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.
  • Develop PLC logic programs for heat transfer equipment.
  • Select components to meet customer specifications and code requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, UL, and CSA codes.
  • Confirm practical fabrication with shop assemblers.
  • Maintain UL files and records.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance remotely or on-site.
  • Write technical documents and operating instructions.
  • Assist other departments in developing new products, improving processes, and reducing scrap.
  • Develop alternative solutions for control systems.
  • Mentor and train field service personnel and junior engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • 2 years of experience with PLC programming (Siemens and Allen-Bradley).
  • 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Experience with heat transfer equipment desired.
  • Knowledge of ASME Section VIII codes and standards is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently after training.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
