Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for construction engineering and construction management.
  • Create estimates and cost proposals for new project bids using estimating and scheduling software.
  • Lead pre-construction projects, including:
    • Preparing and submitting project documents.
    • Creating project budgets.
    • Qualifying subcontractors.
    • Setting up vendors.
    • Developing schedules.
    • Planning projects end-to-end.
  • Collaborate with the superintendent and field crew on project delivery.
  • Analyze project scope, plans, and technical data (e.g., maps, surveys, geotechnical reports, topographical data) to prepare engineering reports, including:
    • Project budgets.
    • Submittals.
    • As-built drawings in accordance with construction codes and government standards.
  • Execute projects, including:
    • Participating in front-end planning meetings.
    • Creating three-week look-ahead schedules.
    • Managing control records.
    • Creating project plans and engineering techniques.
    • Leading planning meetings with superintendents and foremen to direct on-site activities.
  • Handle addendums, issue RFIs, and generate change orders.
  • Allocate equipment and manpower for each project.
  • Manage and review completed project work to ensure compliance with contract documents, shop drawings, and engineering requirements.
  • Track all project costs end-to-end, review and approve invoices, and prepare cost-to-complete reports.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 12 months of related construction project management and/or estimating experience.
