Position Overview:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Recruiting, training, and monitoring the performance of the Territory Managers
  • Collaborate with the Executive team in developing strategy and execution to achieve area and company objectives
  • Monitors team call activity, sales process, and results and makes adjustments to the sales process as necessary to achieve results. Tracks and reports sales metrics and activities. 
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales methodology and strategy to drive growth objectives.
  • Oversees continuing education of sales representatives on selling skills as well as new and existing products in the Johnstone Supply catalog.
  • Coaches Territory Managers on effective sales and prospecting strategies.  Performs joint calls to monitor and develop sales skills within the team.
  • Maintains focus on margin and profitability of each account.  Prioritizes focus of sales team on high profit and high margin customers. 
  • Positions Johnstone Supply products and services as a strategic advantage to customers.  Communicates Johnstone Supply value proposition and business drivers.
  • Maintains awareness of competitor pricing, product lines, and value propositions.  Adjusts market and sales strategies to respond to competition.
  • May assist with the development of marketing plans, strategies, and promotions both inside and outside branch stores.
  • Oversees the creation of bids, sales quotes, and proposals.
  • Represents Johnstone Supply at trade associations, events and local chapters

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years of complex selling experience, with a
          strong emphasis on business-to-business product sales and documented success.
  • College Degree
  • Proven leadership and coaching experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an understanding of diverse backgrounds and an emphasis on communication: training, team building, negotiation skills, interdepartmental interaction, leadership and supervision and management.
Preferred:
  • Direct Sales and Sales Management experience in the business-to-business setting
  • Strong focus on sales process planning and implementation.
  • Completion of a management/sales/leadership program through a previous employer
  • 6+ years of outside sales management experience
Desired:
  • HVAC industry experience
