Job Description:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This role plays a critical part in financial operations, including general ledger accountability, financial reporting, and compliance with internal controls.
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for various accounts, including accruals, prepaids, and payroll.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Manage accounts payable transactions.
  • Handle vendor inquiries related to accounts.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Provide general support to the accounting team and other departments as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as requested.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors
  • Prepare and process accounts payables
  • Coding Payables for Wholesale & E-commerce divisions


QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting or a related role.
  • Strong organizational agility and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently, quickly, and thoroughly within deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, to prioritize work and resolve issues.
  • Proficient in accounting software in ERP systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software and technologies quickly.
  • May require occasional overtime to meet deadlines or during peak periods.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have great attention to detail.
