Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Executive Director/CEO, the Training and Compliance Manager monitors and ensures compliance standards are met for regulatory, accreditation, grant, and funding organizations. This position will oversee and validate quality improvement as it relates to compliance. This position is also responsible for implementation of required training for Mental Health Minnesota’s 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline Center. 


Reports to: Executive Director/CEO

 

Staff Direct Reports: None

 

Job Type: Full-time (1.0 FTE), Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM (up to 20% remote work may be available). Some flexibility in the schedule is required based on job requirements and the 24/7 nature of the work performed by these programs.


 

Position Details:

 

Program Compliance

  • Create, modify, update, and implement internal company policies related to compliance and ensure they are upheld
  • Create and implement internal controls to detect, identify, and correct noncompliance situations
  • Communicate with and ensure all staff are aware of compliance requirements for internal and external laws and regulations
  • Address noncompliance situations by working with program managers and the CEO to create performance improvement plans
  • Analyze internal organizational systems to ensure compliance with industry regulations and ethical standards.


Staff Training and Logistics

  • Design and implement both initial and ongoing training programs for staff and volunteers
  • Track completion of all training and continuing education requirements for staff
  • Maintain training records, including annual sign-off on policies and procedures
  • Provide feedback to Program Manager(s) related to new/additional training needs to address any compliance concerns
  • Serve as an admin for chat and texting services, including account creation and management with external vendors, and address any issues or concerns as necessary

 

Quality Assurance

  • Lead Quality Assurance work to ensure compliance with the standards and expectations of Mental Health Minnesota and its programs
  • Review transcripts and provide feedback to Program Manager(s) regarding concerns/issues
  • Manage the process for critical incident reporting, monitoring, and response

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree
  • Candidates must be comfortable with the use of technology, including email, data entry, Microsoft and Excel, and cloud-based services. Experience coordinating program staffing or volunteer needs at a non-profit organization is highly desired.
  • Ability to read and interpret professional reports, publications, laws and regulations, procedure manuals, project proposals, and presentations
  • Demonstrated interest in combining non-profit/service and compliance perspectives
  • Risk assessment skills to identify noncompliance risks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Moral integrity to understand and promote importance of compliance
  • Problem-solving skills to navigate compliance issues
  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities, with attention to detail to ensure employee completion of required trainings

 

Salary and Benefits: The starting annual salary for this position is $55,000 to $65,000. The successful candidate will also receive a $1,000 new hire bonus (payable after 60 days of successful employment). Benefits include $400/month in additional pay in lieu of insurance, paid holidays, generous paid time off and Earned Sick and Safe Time, 401(k) match, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), free parking, easy access to mass transit, and more. Up to 20% remote work may be available for this position after 60 days of successful employment.
