Job DescriptionJob Description

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures.
    • Including inventory turn, safety stock, cycle counting, stock reconciliation, and inventory audits, to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, logistics, and finance, to establish and communicate inventory policies and levels that align with business needs.
  • Monitor compliance with inventory policies and procedures, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead initiatives to standardize inventory management practices to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of inventory policies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Oversee and manage field inventory planner.

Oversight of total inventory, including reporting and ensuring gap-closure actions to achieve target.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Strong attention to detail for accurate record keeping, reporting, and inventory tracking.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management, time management and organizational skills.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory planning methodologies, demand forecasting techniques, and inventory control principles.
  • Expert Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels inside and outside the company
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Thought Leadership: Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions
  • Relationship Management: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners

Experience

  • 3-7 years of experience with inventory management
  • Experience in a managerial position is preferred.

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required.
  • APICS certification preferred, but not required.
