As a security manager, you will develop and implement efficient security strategies to safeguard the school community including, but not limited to our students, employees, and parents, as well as school assets and facilities. You will protect our school and maintain a secure work environment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and implementing robust security strategies and policies to protect the school’s students, employees, and parents, as well as school assets and facilities.
  • Assessing potential risks and vulnerabilities, investigating security breaches and reinforcing appropriate measures to mitigate them.
  • Leading and managing a team of security personnel, including hiring, training and performance management.
  • Collaborating with multiple departments to ensure compliance and integration of security requirements throughout the campus.
  • Conducting regular security assessments, audits and inspections to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Maintaining and updating emergency response plans in conjunction with Director of Operations, ensuring all employees know their roles and responsibilities.
  • Managing access control systems, surveillance equipment and other security technologies to ensure proper functioning and effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with third-party security personnel, such as law enforcement agencies and security vendors, to enhance security measures and respond to incidents.
  • Investigating security breaches, incidents and violations, document findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Managing traffic flow during arrival and dismissal times.
  • Fostering a culture of security awareness and training employees on security protocols and procedures.
  • Staying informed about the latest security technologies, trends and regulatory requirements and make recommendations for enhancements to the security program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in security management, law enforcement or the armed forces, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
  • Relevant professional certifications in security management or related areas, like Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Certified Security Manager (CSM) are preffered.
  • In-depth knowledge of security technologies, incident management software and other security-related equipment, such as access control systems and CCTV surveillance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security policies, procedures and programs.
  • Training or experience in emergency response and crisis management.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations and industry standards pertaining to security and safety in the USA and the state of Florida.
  • Proficiency in security assessments, audits and investigations at a large scale.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse security team.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying and mitigating security risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
  • Ability to adapt to changing security threats and technologies.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
