SUMMARY:

The Repair Center Engineer is responsible for activities in the Haag-Streit Repair Center. The mission is to ensure the customer receives the benefit of purchasing the highest quality diagnostic products in the world. The Repair Center Technician will work in a highly technical and dynamic environment where good communication skills will be required to interface with varying personnel. This position will report directly to the Director of Technical Service

ESSENTIAL FUNUTIONS:

Service and Repair

  1. Service and repair products in accordance with established company procedures to include management of service repair system and customer returns.
  2. Investigate items brought into the HSQ warehouse to determine if it is to be scrapped or put back in stock.
  3. Perform exchanges of optics, circuit boards, mechanical assemblies as well as low voltage electrical connections and repair.
  4. Organize and process paperwork needed to ship completed repair.
  5. Organize and process paperwork needed to ship product to OEM to repair.
  6. Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the Repair area.
  7. Serve as support and back up for Surgical.

Equipment build-up / Installation

  1. Unpack equipment to inspect for cosmetic or shipping damage.
  2. Load software on control computer. Ensure software, computer and product function as designed.
  3. Repack system to prepare for shipping.
  4. Complete paperwork associated with the pre-installation process.
  5. Prepare non-PC controlled equipment used in the system.
  6. Provide backup on phones in areas where trained.

General

  1. Provide reporting as directed
  2. Perform other duties as may be required

Requirements

  1. A degree (Bachelor or Associate) in biomedical technology or five years’ experience in the design, troubleshooting, or testing of electronic equipment
  2. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills
  3. Experience with troubleshooting and servicing medical/surgical equipment preferred
  4. Physical ability to lift to 60lbs, maneuver 80lbs and move large equipment weighing up to 700lbs with a pallet jacks or other suitable equipment.
  5. Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  6. Ability to interact in successfully with all personality types including company personnel and customers
  7. Strong customer service focus with a sense of urgency in meeting customer needs
  8. Able to manage multiple and shifting priorities
  9. Must be deadline and results oriented.
  10. Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office platforms including Outlook, Excel and Word
  11. Willingness to travel when need, although not major part of the job.
  12. Willing to travel out of the country for training.
