Job DescriptionJob Description

Work Scope:

Employee is required to operate heavy mobile equipment to load materials in trucks from various bunkers and buildings; move material from one area to another; and feeds the system of unprocessed material.

Duties include the following:

1. Operates front-end loaders to load unprocessed materials into the system as directed by the supervisor.

2. Operates front-end loaders to load processed ferrous and non-ferrous metals into trucks as directed by the supervisor or lead person.

3. Receives deliveries from trucks of non-processed material. Maintains the yard by pushing up metal piles using the front-end loader without pushing them over the retention walls.

4. Operates front-end loaders to load trucks of fluff and other non-metals removed from the air classifier material into trucks as directed by the supervisor or lead person.

5. Performs safety Inspection and operational preventive maintenance daily, including pressure cleaning, on the equipment assigned to this position; completes PM sheets and work orders as required.

6. Reports unsafe conditions, accidents or equipment malfunctions to operations lead person or supervisor.

7. Assists other operators with equipment inspections and cleaning of heavy equipment as directed by the supervisor or lead person.

8. Assist other operators with maintaining the equipment and cleaning of the department as directed by the supervisor or lead person.

General Plant Requirements

A. All contractors must receive site safety orientation training before commencing work

B. Contractors must be able to stand for long periods of time

C. Contractors must be able to use job tools as provided

D. Contractors will supply the necessary PPE to perform the task and the PPE must be worn.

E. Contractors must be physically able to lift up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis.
