Heidelberg Materials is in search of a

Heavy Equipment Operator

who takes pride in operating and maintaining heavy machinery while optimizing productivity. The ideal candidate will be tasked with transporting materials from the quarry to designated stockpiles. A CDL License is not necessary as this operation occurs on company premises.

- Operate the haul truck to deliver rock products to the plant and stockpiles as instructed

- Utilize equipment efficiently to enhance productivity and reduce wear and downtime

- Operate additional mobile plant equipment as required (e.g., Water Truck, Loader)

- Assist in various areas of the plant as needed

- Report any mechanical or maintenance concerns regarding equipment

- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies; conduct daily equipment inspections and help identify and rectify unsafe conditions

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or equivalent is required

- A minimum of 2 years of experience operating haul trucks (or other large mobile equipment) is preferred

- Previous experience in open pit mining operations and aggregate products is advantageous

- Flexibility to work different shifts, holidays, and/or overtime as necessary

- MSHA Part 48 training is a plus

- Ability to understand stockpile and plant flow

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (including lifting above and below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (using both hands), squatting, performing repetitive motions, and manipulating finger movements with both hands. Must also be able to use wrists (flexing or rotating), both feet, and arms above and below shoulder level. The role requires working extended periods in the same position, performing duties in various climates, tolerating heights, lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs., working in confined spaces, and wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment.
