Xpanner is seeking Field Technicians who can learn and thrive in the fast-moving world of smart construction equipment. This position is based in Santa Fe Springs, CA, requires up to 80% travel to construction job-sites within and beyond CA, works with smart construction equipment (eg. tiltrotators and machine-guidance) as well as with proprietary technology to automate specific construction tasks. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install and service smart construction equipment (eg. tiltrotators & machine guidance).
  • Work in teams to prepare and execute task-specific automation for customers executing civil and solar projects.
  • Follow guidelines, specs, and work procedures to execute installation, maintenance, service, and project execution.
  • Travel (up to 80% of time) to customer locations where equipment is being installed/serviced or where customer projects are being executed. Some travel will be for extended periods of 2~4 weeks and eligible for additional compensation.
  • Collaborate in context of customer/project circumstances to determine priorities, work approach, and task coordination.
  • Apply mechanical assembly skills to assemble & integrate components of smart equipment.
  • Use measurement tools & torque specs to properly execute tasks during installation, maintenance, and service.
  • Perform basic mechanical, electric, and/or hydraulic repairs on equipment, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2~5 years mechanical assembly experience, preferably with construction equipment.
  • Understanding of assembly techniques, fastening systems, torque, and measurements tools.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex issues and ideas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams.
  • Previous experience with and ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Can operate a forklift when needed, as well as an overhead crane.
  • Previous experience welding on vehicles.
  • Valid driver’s license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work collaboratively with team to schedule and plan. Build experience with construction technology via training and in-field servicing of smart equipment. Installing/commissioning/servicing smart construction equipment will frequently be done on or near moving mechanical and hydraulic parts, occasionally outdoors at job-sites. Proper PPE is required, steel toe boots and safety glasses are mandatory at all times, ear protection must be worn when necessary.
