Position Title: Technical Operations Coordinator

Reporting to: Director of Operations and Engineering

Basic Objective:

Kinovate Life Sciences (KLS) is the leading manufacturer and provider of solid support for oligonucleotide synthesis. The incumbent in this position covers a wide range of responsibilities and disciplines related to ensuring the efficient and effective operation of different technical systems and manufacturing processes. The Technical Operations Coordinator will provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders on matters related to manufacturing processes. The incumbent will champion Operational Excellence initiatives and will be a liaison between the Production Department and QA/QC, Supply Chain, Process Development, Facilities and Engineering departments, this position will also ensure all production process are documented and executed accurately according to established SOPs. The ideal candidate possesses a chemical or biological background with 5-7 years of experience leading small groups in a GMP/ISO manufacturing environment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates, deploys, and enhances Continuous Improvement initiatives and measures the effectiveness of such initiatives.
  • Ensures that EHS and ESG guidelines are strictly followed.
  • Leads projects involving multi-disciplinary teams, implementing actions, and assessing results’ efficacy.
  • Creates, implements, monitors, and enhances Key Performance Indicators aligned with company’s goals.
  • Responsible for analyzing current practices, developing manufacturing process improvements, implementing changes in workflows, structures, and teams to ensure continuous performance.
  • Contributes to Process Development and Engineering projects and leads transition into manufacturing process.
  • Evaluates new technologies and determines how they can support manufacturing processes.
  • Investigate, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to Quality and EHS events.
  • Creates, measures and ensures production activities are performed according to established procedures and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain good manufacturing and documentation practices and reviews for accuracy and completeness according to established timelines.
  • Ensures Production equipment is maintained and in compliance with preventative maintenance programs and calibration.
  • Monitor the correct functionality of the production equipment. Troubleshoots and report to Production manager any deviation or failure of the equipment.
  • Provide training and coaching to KLS employees.
  • Works with QA team to implement the quality policies and goals and draft production-related procedures, as needed.
  • Strong written skills for SOP, batch record, and document revisions.
  • Self-motivated and able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Communicates clearly and acts as the liaison between the Production department and other departments.
  • Performs other activities as required by the business.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or relevant science degree.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Able to attend to details and act decisively.
  • Familiarity with production equipment including reactors, agitation, vacuum pumps, and vacuum ovens.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage changing priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written, oral presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organizing and time-managing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Physical Job Requirements:

Office/Lab environment. Lifting to 50 pounds may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear. They are required to stand, walk or sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
