Civil Engineering Technician (CAD) Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will create 3D models, drawings, and renderings based on client specifications. This position requires a high level of technical knowledge and a strong understanding of CAD software. The CAD Technician will ensure that projects are completed quickly and accurately, meeting all client requirements.

We specialize in designing residential sub-division and commercial site plans. Road, grading, profile, utilities including water, sewer and drainage. Also, we provide As-Built plan services.

This is an in-office position only, no remote work.

Civil Engineering Technician (CAD) Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models, drawings, and renderings based on client specifications
  • Analyze blueprints, sketches, and other design documents to determine design requirements
  • Use CAD software to create technical drawings and plans
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to CAD software
  • Maintain and update existing design files
  • Collaborate with clients and other departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time and meet client expectations

Civil Engineering Technician (CAD) Technician Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Previous experience as a CAD Technician or related position
  • Proficiency in computer aided design software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Strong knowledge of computer programming and engineering principles
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
