Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Asplundh Engineering & Asplundh Construction, LLC (ACL). This role involves a combination of engineering and project management responsibilities, with a focus on substation, electric, and civil projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Estimating: Develop and manage project estimates for substation, electric, and civil projects.
  • Training and Support: Standardize estimating approaches and provide training to the existing team.
  • Database Management: Organize and maintain a database of man hours, equipment prices, and labor costs.
  • Vendor and Sub-Contractor Coordination: Collaborate with managers to identify sub-contractors and material vendors, especially for EPC projects.
  • Bid Review Participation: Participate in bid review calls for both ACC level and corporate reviews.
  • Project Management: Manage substation projects and other EPC/specialized disciplines.
  • Technical and Administrative Support: Provide support to Project Managers and Region Managers.
  • Technical SME: Serve as a subject matter expert for proposals, customer interviews, and new business solicitations.
  • EPC Liaison: Act as a liaison for EPC projects.
  • Licensing: Manage state and various licensing requirements.
  • CADD Support: Provide support for as-builts, survey documentation, design, etc.
  • Provide PE stamps on drawings.
  • Environmental Compliance: Support civil groups and safety teams with project-specific environmental compliance.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Verify the accuracy of sub-contractor costs (e.g., tree trimming, flagging, and other services).
  • Travel as required, including extended periods and occasional evening and weekend work.
Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Extensive experience in electrical engineering and project management.
  • Strong skills in building proposals and estimates.
  • Ability to build and maintain a database for estimating purposes.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
