Job Description

MOBC’s family-centered programs provide stability and support to the entire family. The Family Support Specialist will assist in providing resource information and programming to families enrolled in programs.

AmeriCorps

The Martha O’Bryan Center (MOBC) empowers children, youth, and adults in poverty, to transform their lives through work, education, employment, and fellowship. The Center cannot service the community alone, so we partner with organizations like AmeriCorps, to fulfill our mission.

AmeriCorps members serve 1700 hours over the course of 11 months with Martha O'Bryan Center, gaining hands-on experience working with families, youth, and community members. The crucial components of the MOBC—AmeriCorps years of service program allow you to build your community and professional skills, thereby propelling you towards the next steps in your career and life.

Hours: 9 am – 5 pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruit and retain families for current family-centered programs

  • Assist the Family Support team with planning and implementing service and programs for families

  • Conduct intakes in collaboration with family coaches and other Family Support staff

  • Maintain up-to-date progress notes and data utilizing the SalesForce database and organize client files

  • Provide resource information to clients

  • Provide educational information regarding MOBC’s services to families in-person, through social media, and through a newsletter

  • Assist with in-kind donation organization and distribution

  • Support family-centered coaches in organizing and executing special events for clients and community members

  • Participate in AmeriCorps professional development and community-building workshops
